Chernobog, Lord of Darkness

SMITE LORE (skip if you're not interested):

"Sunlight's last grasp reached up from the horizon like the clawing hand of a drowning man. Black against a blackening sky, the Great Mountain's frozen peak loomed.

    In the crannies and crevisses, in the darkened recesses of stone and ice, the denizens of nightmare crawled and squirmed. Silken shadows given form, withered hags of sorcerous witchcraft, leathery gargoyles, and skeletal fiends - all creeping ever upward, gathering for their unholy sabbath.

    Night at last swallowed light. Crystalline silence befell the summit. The wicked waited for their God. The pointed peak cracked and opened, two colossal bat-like wings spreading. He emerged, exultant.

    Creatures of every horror danced and cheered in twitches and fits, calling to their God. His jagged finger pointed and his minions of malice spewed forth to spread fear and death and darkness.

    Chernobog, Lord of Darkness, grinned."

Woot. Finally. Not just "Finally, I've done something", but also "Finally, Chernobog has been released." I've heard word that SMITE might be dying, so I am not sure how many more of these I will make. Rest assured that I'll try my best to make them all ^ u^

Chernobog, Lord of Darkness. Sounds super dark and also a bit cool, yet demonic.. and that is basically what this sprite is too! Spikes on his arms and legs, red horns on his head, orange eyes.. Two super cool wings that I drew myself.. Hehehe, yay! I tried drawing the legs myself as well and ehm.. let's just say it's for the best I covered them up with Chernobog's belt and skirt >///>

I kinda like how he came out, especially the horns and wings. Very cool. Now, if you want to see this deity's lore come to life in 1940's animation, search for Fantasia - Night on Bald Mountain on YouTube. It's part of Disney's Fantasia from 1940. Very old, but very ominous all the same. Only difference is that Disney spelled Chernobog with an 'a', Chernabog. He looks a bit more slick there too.. Give it a watch, it's only 9 minutes or so.
